Studio workshop lighting
Client brief...to specify a high quality light to hang over a workbench that can be adjusted using a remote device to replicate any colour of white light. The client's objectives was to have a light with a high colour rendering index (CRI) as close to natural daylight as possible to accurately match colours for artworks, frames and mounts. The colour flexibility was an added advantage as the client could reproduce the white colour (e.g. warm or cool white) of their customer's property so that a visual adjustment could be made during the colour matching process.
What the client said
At Fisherton Framing I need to be able to see the true colours of customers artwork and then be able to make an accurate match with suitably coloured mountboards. This requires lighting which does not create any colour cast or tinting. James advised me on a light panel which now discreetly hangs over my consultation table. It gives a really nice light which is not too bright but works so well that you and the customers aren't actually aware of it. It's only when you turn it off that you really see the difference. The panel can also be adjusted from warm white through to cool white to give the exact colour required. This is a fantastic feature as other light panels only give an arbitrary colour and it's not until you fit it that you see the real colour which may not be what you expected. I would thoroughly recommend James and LightMySpace. He has completely transformed the lighting in my shop making me, and my customers, very happy.
