Advent Illuminations - from darkness to light
Client brief
to design, create and install outdoor lighting to showcase the features of the historically important Malmesbury House in The Close in support of Salisbury Cathedral's advent illuminations - From Darkness to Light. The client wanted to create a tableau of lighting effects that would complement the house, the approach and feature shrubs and trees. Each of the 'set pieces' different elements should be interconnected and controlled by a single switch. The lighting supplied should be weather resistant and re-usable for other evening events during the year as well as Christmas.
What the client said
Light my space quoted for, and undertook, a rather large project at our house in Cathedral Close, Salisbury. We arranged installation date, for 1st December, which would be just in time to join the Cathedral’s “darkness into light” theme. On one morning he worked on uncomplainingly through freezing wind and heavy rain. James and Ira sourced beautiful quality lighting, in a warm white colour, which was exactly what we were looking for. James worked for 2 days to install the lighting and, as it was a complicated design to fit together, ensured we had a map of how everything went together - before helped dismantle it on 6th January and stow it away safely for next Christmas. Many people who live nearby commented on how beautiful the lights were and said they took a detour from their normal evening route to pass by the house and see our lighting as often as possible. We recommend Light My Space most highly. They are utterly professional, focussed - and winningly friendly. We shall certainly be asking them to come back should we decide to increase our wattage this winter!
